Mysteries of the human body ... well, in a way.

First off, seeing as I am new to the blogging community, someone will have to let me know if it is feau paux to do more than one post within a 24 period. If it is, I'll make sure to do better in the future.

So, last Friday afternoon around 5 ish my throat kinda started hurting. "No big deal," I figured, "Probably just a dry throat." After a night of restless sleep, because my belly is the size of a camel hump, I woke up Saturday feeling like the reindeer had missed grandma and run right over me. My body ached, throat hurt worse, neck and head hurt, yada yada yada. Typical flu-like symptoms. Seeing as I have already had the flu shot this season, and the Doc can't do anything about the flu anyways, I figured we should carry on with our day as planned. So, after some errands in town (aka Honolulu), the aches were worse, all aforementioned pains were worse, oh, and did I mention total loss of appetite. And now I had a fever too. Though we don't drive around with a thermometer in the glove box, the skin hot enough to cook a Digiornos pizza was a dead give away. yada yada - I kept an eye on the fever, because pregnant + 102 temp = bad. So around 10 pm I had finally crept up to 102. I call the Doc, Doc says it could be a bacterial infection rather than flu, sends me to the ER. I plead with her, "Can I please go in the morning?" She was adamant, and we were ER bound. After napping on the paper covered ER bed, the resident Doc came in, affirmed that I did indeed have a fever, and agreed that my symptoms were flu like. He checked my nose and throat and informed me that I had an ear infection, little bit of strep (we caught it early), the beginnings of a sinus infection, and yes indeed, the flu.

A few amoxicillin later, I'm good as new.

The point of the story: Isn't that just crazy! Friday morning I was at the beach playing with Addi and friends, feeling great, and less than 36 hrs. later I had three infections and the flu ... That's just plumb crazy. Really not much of a point I guess....
