bugged

for a while now case and i have been working out various plans for "how to live in hawaii". cost of living isn't too bad, but housing ... wow. a starter home is $500,000 + (and that's being quite conservative). especially considering our specific situation wherein we are not and don't want to be a dual-income family.

here in hau'ula we found a piece of commercial land for sale, so we looked it up online and found it on craigslist. you'll notice the current list price is $599,000. yah, well this morning, and yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that it was listed as $59,000. i realize it's crazy over-idealistic that we actually believed it was going for $60K, but we did. we did so much in fact that we spent all weekend praying about it, developing a couple business ideas, figuring out how much it would cost to ship casey's woodshop over here and get it set up, glorying in this amazing blessing to be able to set-up the woodshop so soon and so close to home, etc. etc. etc. it really seemed that this was the ticket to making hawaii work....

so thanks choon james for forgetting a zero. (thick sarcasm intended - we're a bit bugged)

That sucks. I cant believe that you can get a small house for 500,000 thats crazy. You can get a way big big house here for that. But I would love to move to Hawaii.I hope it works out for you.
