the4th

wow ... i really need to update. unfortunately (extremely unfortunately) our brand-spanking new camera seems to be struggling in its infancy. what's wrong ... don't know. but sometimes it decides to not take pictures ... at all. so thanks to Shanae and Noelle for some holiday photos.

due to Addi's illness, i didn't get a chance to get out and purchase patriotic clothing for the family, which was really no big deal for me and case, but the girls absolutely HAD to be patriotic. c'mon now. so, Case had to work the morning of the 4th (crazy elevators going down on a holiday ... bah humbug), so i drew a shirt for Add and a onesie for Gwen. the camera wouldn't let me get a pic of the backs of them; Addi's had a little blue star outline on the bottom left and said "i'm free" at the top. i liked them much.

after Case got home we went to Turtle Bay with Shanae and her kiddos. they had awesome bounce houses and horse rides and food and shows (the live band was great, may i say) ... Addi liked the food and was pretty apprehensive about the rest. she seems like such an oxy-moron to me sometimes - so outgoing and adventurous and independent, but quite scared of new things (ie. bounce houses and horses and live bands ... )

... and fireworks. After Turtle Bay we went to the Reynolds for a BBQ, pool party, and some mean fireworks. It was a blast! And Addi floated in a floaty for the first time ever. Woo Hoo! But she (and Gwen) were so scared by the fireworks. She said, "inside, inside" so we went inside. I kept asking her, "Do you want to go back out to see the pretty colors?"

"No. Inside." And as soon as 7 came and went (her bedtime) she had this blank-eyed stare and just sat in my or Casey's lap. Gwen: she ate and slept all day.

I LOVE holidays! Good food. Good friends. Good fun.

Love the holiday outfits. I agree you definitely need to wear an outfit that matches the holiday.

I love the outfits! You did a good job. I totally forgot, well, I never thought about it in the first place. I started seeing all these people in red/white/blue and I thought... oh, I'm suppose to do that huh...
