well, remember how i mentioned that casey's boss knows scary people. i said it in jest; though it is true, i figured he wouldn't actually sic scary people on us. returning ... monday night's voicemail ... a message containing expletives from a man saying he represented "company name, bosses name" (gotta love the anonymity) and we had better return the [expletive] truck and computer or he would come get them. and i quote: "and you don't want me to come get them."
hmmm... two points worth noting:
1. casey left the truck and computer at the jobsite when he quit thursday, as well as his uniforms, all company tools, etc.
and perhaps more importantly 2. what in the crazy!!! are you serious?! is some thug/hitman/strong arm for "bosses name" really calling us, leaving a message on our personal phone, threatening our livelihood for said truck and computer?! really? ... pinch me. seriously. is this real? i feel like i'm living in theGodfather part 5 (or whatever part is next. not too familiar with the series.)
and in case you're wondering, yep, i'm just a tad scared. and yes, he knows where we live. and yes, me and the girls are home alone for approx. 12 hours every day. and yes, i intend to be in the company of others and/or away from home at all times for the next ... oh ... several weeks maybe.
now i realize he is 99% unlikely to do anything, because he would be a fool to. however, in the same breath, in my opinion he does some quite nutty things (e.g. withholding casey's last two paychecks because case's quitting "hindered his day" ... true story. and requesting of casey all the parameters of every job case has ever worked on by the end of the week - talking like two dozen elevators here. parameters are part of the computer programming section of elevatoring. they tell the computer everything it needs to know from how much voltage it needs to how many feet per minute the car should run. they are already saved in the computers contained at each jobsite. and to provide the parameters for two dozen jobs ... ridiculous. it would take months. it's like asking you to count the number of toothpicks at a mississippi family reunion before dessert is even served.)
looks like this is going to be quite the doozy here ... quitting i mean. hopefully we get paid soon. and of course hopefully no large, angry-looking polynesians make a surprise visit during thursday night meatloaf.

That IS scary!!!! I think I might tell someone if i were you... Maybe get a restraining order... or hire a hitman yourselves.
I sure hope you can sleep well soon! and Casey gets paid for all his work!!!!!!
(ps... thats a lot of toothpicks)
oh my heck! you better work on your p90x kickboxing just in case!
I really would go to the police station (except where is it?) and file a report. That is the most important thing to have documentation of before things escalate, so if they do you have proof where it all started. Plus it helps keep you safe.
wow!!! that's insane!!! that is so mean, because you know that casey is such a nice guys and wouldn't hurt a fly... well, maybe a fly. I don't blame you for keeping busy the next little while. Good luck!
you guys can come hang here any time, that is a little scary. what a lame boss!
see ya tomorrow! i cant wait to hear more about this from you!
that is nuts!! the closest police station is in kahuku. go. go now.
Oh man, I'm sorry. What a scary situation! I really hope it blows over... FAST!
Okay, I would be more than a bit scared. I just hope and pray that you all keep very safe.
Scary! Make sure you keep that phone message and be careful!
if i lived there, i would make you stay at my house all day everyday and we would talk about the similarity of our lives---which as far as i know includes having two little girlies about the same age.
