catching up

well, i have two, count 'em 1, 2 tags to catch up on. so if you feel you just don't know me well enough, you can either call me right now and we'll hang out for the next 3 hours or so, or you can just read this post. whichever best fits your schedule.

from the Rondo, 'cause she loves my blog. * happy *
1. where is your cell phone? right beside me, where it belongs.
2. where is your significant other? school, learning how to be the bestest elevator mechanic there ever was, so that he can give it all up to own his own woodshop
3. your hair color? dark dark brown. lovin' it. it went uber dark during my Gwen pregnancy
4. your mother? independent, sensitive, productive: Valerie
5. your father? friendly, southern, younger than the numbers say: David
6. your favorite thing? one thing ... i just don't know that i have one favorite thing. the way Gwen kicks uncontrollably out of pure glee when i come in to say good morning. the way Addi always has to have one more kiss, "misses", as i'm closing her door for bedtime. case's perfectionist ways: sewing, carpentering, elevatoring, kitchen cleaning, car washing - it's an art, really. my drunk neighbor's inability to spoil our nighttime family singing. (he mockingly sings along sometimes). my life.
7. your dream last night? well, i only slept three hours. so given, i did enter REM sleep, but it was so incredibly deep that the dreams just didn't get a change to nestle their way into my brain. so, in short, i don't remember.
8. your dream/goal? i don't know right now. crazy, since i'm so goal oriented. it was (in the temporal sense) to have a an illustrious (my own version of illustrious, that is) house with bedrooms to spare and rooms to entertain dozens. but as of late, not so much.  oh, i also want to earn my PhD and change the world.
9. the room you're in? the only room that isn't a bedroom or bathroom.
10. your hobby? creating: music, sewing, painting, drawing, photographying. and i like to hike.
11. your fear? 2: rejection . and . being perceived as ignorant. (whoa, that's a heavy confession for a light-hearted little post)
12. where do you want to be in 6 years? ha, refer to #8. our life is a bit up-in-the-air now. BUT, in six years we will have all 4 of our planned kiddos (case says they'll all be girls) and we'll most likely still be living right here in our beloved home in hau'ula, oahu, hawaii.
13. where were you last night? at home sewing, my little heart on on a bag i thought up.
14. what you're not ... not good at staying in touch with people, generally speaking.
15. one of your wish-list items ... right now i'm not desiring anything more than a gatorade. ok ok ...
16. where you grew up ... i'm a mix. 0-5 yrs: Texas; 5-9 yrs: Utah; 10-15 yrs: Texas; 15-21 yrs: Utah. so, textah ... utas ... uttex?? yah, there.
17. the last thing you ate ... lunch
18. what are you wearing? a dress from ross. i've been into wearing dressed lately.
19. your TV? on the wall
20. your pet? we have a chinchilla, but he's on the mainland
21. your computer? MAC, and oh how i love it!
22. your mood? indifferent, satisfied, just chillin.
23. missing someone? usually. i miss case M-R from 6 am until 5:30 pm, and Friday i miss him until 9:30 pm. lately i've been missing my utah friends: gentry, mandy, matt, erik. i miss the campbells, too. and the ratcliffs. man, 30 seconds ago i didn't miss anybody, now i miss every human that i've ever come in contact with.
24. your car? i remember the first time i saw an element. i was shopping for clothes for the mission at an Arei type store in downtown salt lake. i was with mom and my boyfriend. in the parking lot was this peculiar, cubeish car. i fell in love and said, 'i will own that.' mom said it was ugly. boyfriend laughed. three years later i find myself living in hawaii, married to a 'car guy', still wanting an element. given, an element isn't exactly a 'car guy' type of car. BUT october 21, 2006 - the longest most wretched day ever (car shopping with a two month old who doesn't know how to be quiet and hates nursing and sleeping), my dream came true. that day we drove home in a green, 5-speed honda element. sadly, that dream ends tomorrow as we trade it in for a car that seats more than 4 people. shed a tear for me at 10 am as we meet with John Starkey, a pfleuger auto sales consultant. *sigh*
25. something you're not wearing ... my rings. my fingers aren't exactly as small i would like.
26. favorite store ... um, well, i like to shop, but i don't like to shop with kiddos, and i like them more than shopping, so i haven't left them long enough to shop in  ...  2 yrs. 2 months 3 days and some hours. actually, i haven't "shopped" since pre-mission days (whoa, that's crazy! and could lead to some hilarious, post-mission clothing stories. horrible.) and back then american eagle and lucky were my absolute favorite places. but i just don't know anymore.
27. your summer? endless
28. love someone? many someones. i love easily.
29. your favorite color? the green of grass and yellow of grey poupon, but not necessarily together
30. when is the last time you laughed? like one of those real, belly-jiggling, tearing-up laughs? it was within the week - i think two nights ago. case said something absolutely hilarious, and i can tell you where he was standing, where addi and gwen were, where i was sitting, and what all of us were wearing, but i have no idea what he said (silly photographic memory).
31. last time you cried? hmm, again, i remember the scene. i was holding gwen trying to get her to go to sleep. she was sick. i was sick. i felt so sad that she couldn't sleep ... ah, last friday. it was last friday night.

well, that took a while. so i'll get around to the other tag another time.

i love reading your posts. you're witty and they always make me smile or laugh. i had a question: how old is gwen? i saved so much baby clothes from my daughter, and i have been sifting through and want to get rid of most of them. i came across lots of 0-3 month clothes that i think are too cute or in too good a condition to just toss. did you want them? let me know. if not, i will be donating them.

I love that your neighbor mockingly sings along with you guys. Is he the 'piano' neighbor? I love catching up on your past posts. I really like your opinion and everybody else's on your senior project. Good stuff! I miss you tons and hope you're doing good!
