oh, but we did get ...

... a minivan saturday. well, we signed the papers and all that jazz. however, it had a broken cup holder and a few (half dozen) dents, so they (pfleuger) are fixing it up all pretty like for us, and we'll pick it up in a week or so. it's an '07 nissan quest and it looks like this: (note: this is not the actual van - but ours is completely identical ... well, except ours has a running board along both sides.)

i love the color, interior and exterior, and the uber-mega amounts of cargo space. and it also has a dvd player, which was a nice little bonus that we weren't necessarily shopping for. the doors are power-sliding, and the back hatch is automatic too, just push a little button and botta-bing botta-boom, it's closed. the pedals are adjustable ... huge bonus with our considerable height difference. it used to be a taxi - i think that's cool. imagine how many people from how many different places all over the world have sat in this thing! the back row is stadium-style seating, so you can still see out the windshield. and it was crazy cheap with low mileage.

it took 8 hours because we kept negotiating and re-negotiating the price and loan terms until they were just how we liked them, and the girls were SO good. amazing actually! addi went through 4 pairs of clothes, colored her finger nails with a sharpie the loan guy gave her, poured rootbeer down her entire front self, and got 2 free balloons the size of ... well, they were big - think jay leno's chin. and i watched football - something i haven't done in years. of course UofT won ... didn't they? and OU won by a landslide. my brother was offered a position as a running back for them about a decade and a half ago, but he declined due to the young-uns he and his wife had at home. hmmm, two football games ... yah, we were there a while.

if you're looking to buy a car here in honolulu, i highly recommend john starkey with the pleuger auto group. he was completely non-pushy, worked well with us, helped with all the kid stuff, loading and unloading car seats, accomodated my need to nurse every couple hours, and addi even held his hand.

I love it and it sounds like you do too. Haha... that's kinda funny that Addi went through 4 pairs of clothes. Not so funny for you of course.

That's a gorgeous, gorgeous car.

And you live in Hawaii?

We need to talk.

Hubby and I are seriously considering a move there and I'd like to get your input.
