oh my gosh folks, LOTS of posts!!

but first, the garden.
because mom j. asked for it.

the bulk of it, from the north-east corner.
the corn:
the peas:
the carrots:
the garlic:a story. garlic was $20 online and we couldn't find it locally. and we just thought $20 was too much. just too much. but we bought some garlic a couple months ago, and when we go it out for dinner monday night, lo and behold, it had sprouted. so we planted it. and now we've got these little buggers. sweet!
the onions:
the lettuce:
the peppers:
the drainage system:
our first crop:

not pictured:

spinach.
(only 1 of 9 grew. we didn't want the loner to feel pressured by the spotlight.)
watermelon.
he's still a little bugger.

I wish I could garden, but the 6 inches of snow on the ground might make it a little cold!! Congrat and good luck!

yay! love all the variety! you got a green thumb for sure! i have cherry tomatoes, green but soon to be ripe. my pepper plant is tiny, but promising. i need to re-plant some cilantro, lettuce and zuchinni.

That's awesome! Although I have to tell you that corn doesn't really grow well unless you grow it in large numbers. I'm talking in a 20x10 foot bock minimum. Still, your garden looks awesome and I'm sure you'll enjoy the harvest! I learned recently that if you keep cutting the spinach down you can have baby spinach the whole season instead of getting the large tough leaves when the plants go to seed.

Looks great!!

I was wondering about the corn as well. What kind of a root system it would need etc.

It's amazing how fast everything sprouted up!
