sweat, stickers, and sleeping

next time you step on an elevator, direct your eyes southward and you'll notice a teensy weensy little crack between the elevator cab and the floor of the building.

you'd be amazed what can fall down that teensy weensy little crack.
like entire john deere sticker books...
stickers by you.

gwen thinks they're supposed to go on hair and eyes too.
tractor hair by you.

casey, the elevator fixing whiz that he is, gets to confiscate many of these little treasures. pretty sweet deal ... that's why we now own said john deere sticker book. and without it i don't know what gwen would be sticking in her eyes and hair.

when we're not playing with stickers, we're pretty much sweating our brains out. it's been pretty hot and sticky lately. we've been eating jell-O (a rarity in the jorgensen household), making smoothies, hitting the playground and beach ... but poor Baby. Baby can't eat jell-O or smoothies, is too short for the playground, and has non-waterprood mechanical parts = no beach. so really there's only one way to beat the heat ...
ice ice baby
thanks to her loving mother addi, Baby pretty much ends up somewhere in the fridge everyday.
baby doesn't have a name. and baby is androgenous. (how do you spell androgenous?)
but usually she's a she, just because addi doesn't have contact with many "he's".
any suggestions for baby's name? and gender.

so gwen is climbing out of her crib these days. i usually find her on her changing table right next to the crib, so it's fine ... i don't mind.
crib climber by you.

well, except for last friday when she fell out.

then i minded.

so we thought we'd make the big transition. BIG:
toddler bed AND in the same room with addi ...
bunking by you.
looks all good, right?
wrong.
o h s o w r o n g .

the girls go to bed at 7:30. not this night ... try 9, and only after lots and LOTS of crying and screaming and "no gwenner in addi's room. addi night night. gwenner go gwenner's room momma." basically everybody involved was sad about the whole ordeal.

then again at 2 am.
all the way until 3 am.
gwen screamed.
i comforted.
gwen slept.
gwen screamed again.
addi woke up.
i comforted for a really long time ... ok, so i just fell asleep on the floor holding both of their hands.

and usually addi sleeps until 7 (lately ... fingers crossed) and gwen sleeps until 8 (toes crossed...) not this time. 6 am, both of them, tired, fussy and awake.

so now gwen sleeps in her brown and white cage, i mean crib, in her own little space of a bedroom. and we lowered the crib down all the way.

yah, my arms aren't even long enough to lay her down in it HAHA!!

so basically, life is good.

So I love your pics as always, and I love that Addi is standing naked in Gwen's crib because that is so something that my kids do, even though they are nearly 7 and 4 years old, and I love that you put Gwen back in her crib so that you could save your sanity! I'm not letting Will out of his 'cage' til he's 5! Hahaha, okay maybe 4. ;)

I don't love that my whole comment up there was basically a run on sentence with way too many commas. I'm a comma freak. I need help.

ha! ivy is still in a crib (read pack-n-play since we moved) cause i hate the drama of a big girl bed, it just messes everything up and that is not good!

glad gwen has a cage again!

When we lived in Hawaii, Zack and I where staying at the Hilton Hawaiian, and we were riding in the elevator. Zack was twirling the keys on his figure and the next moment they slipped off and went straight down that little crack! it was a sunday at 7 and the dealership was closed and we could not find a place to make us the key. So Zack rode the Bus back to Laie to get our spare key and back that night! we had to fly out the next morning and move our car our of the hotel parking lot!! What great fun. At least Casey found something fun down there!

HA!! you're a great story teller!! We went through the same thing with the girls, trying to stick them in the same room over and over again... we didn't make it work until they had just turned 3 and almost turning 2 (they are 13 months apart) and then there was still a few nights "transitioning"... hope it works out for you when ever it is supposed to! but darn it.. .isn't it frustrating! ha ha
