I realized Gwen's unisex onesie was slightly more masculine than feminine, and I really needed to put a bow in her hair to aid onlookers in gender-identification ... but I didn't. So when I went to the post office to pick up a package, everyone called her "the baby" and "it". Then Tamura's, more "baby" and "it" verbage. Next, 7-11 (we did a lot of walking to keep the girls happy). "He's so cute!" Yah, that's when I knew I really needed to get a bow on her head. She was rather offended by the whole event and cried the entire walk home ... not really, but I did. Okay, again not really, BUT I was upset because 7-11 wouldn't let me purchase my purple Tiger gatorade and protein bar without ID. "It'a a debit card." I implored. "If I know the pin number isn't that proof enough? Plus I come here like 3-4 times a week ... you know me, and you never ask for ID."
Then I found out the down low as the short-statured man behind the counter quickly turned 180 degrees counter-clockwise to grace me with a face-to-face interaction. The lady at the register mouthed with a whisper, "The manager." Then Manager spoke:
"It is company policy. We always ask for ID."
Oh ya, how could I have forgotten. Silly me. They always ask for my ID.
But the best part ... the cashier's explanation. You see, I wasn't really that upset. I had mostly come for the A/C and didn't want to seem cheap by just walking up and down the 3 aisles for a 1/2 hr. without buying anything, so it really didn't upset me that I was leaving empty-handed. It was a matter of principle. But the explanation ... (in pidjun, but I'm not so good at mimicking pidjun.)
"Yah, we have to check ID. One time this guy had ID and a debit card, and the ID didn't match. It was the wrong name ... different from the card. So we gotta check ID."
I'm sure my face looked quite quizzical. Really, they asked the guy for ID, he knew he had stolen the card, and he actually provided NON-matching ID??? Really?

Your girls are so cute! Don't worry- people think Paige is a boy sometimes. I rarely put bows or headbands on her- maybe I should. But you would think the PINK outfits would give it away. Guess not.
Purple tiger gatorade is my favorite drink right now!!! If we were still missionaries, we would be buying that all of the time. I think it would go well with whole chocolate cakes!!!
I love this picture of Adi with the orange. Don't worry about Gwen, even when I had Drew dressed in pink, with a bow in her hair, and her ears pierced people still asked if she was a boy. Then then ID thing, it's hilarious because half the people that look at ID's don't even fully look at the info or don't know what to look for. It's really dumb unless it's a credit card. But yeah let's go to the beach this week!
