so in a nutshell:
- addi's potty training for real. today she only had one accident (which really was my fault) and she pooed in the toilet. yay! so in celebration we went to angels where she downed a chocolate ice cream cone with my help, then walked around laie for hours on end. well, we played at tva, the walking wasn't really that long. anyways, yay for poopies!
- the no-bottle is going well. she puts up a fight at nap and night time, but never asks for it any other time.
- addi and gwen are sick-o. just colds, but it's gwen's first, and addi's is accompanied by a wicked cough, and let's emphasize that they're both sick at the same time, so it seems like more than it is.
- last night we went to kaneohe to get free coldstone, then decided that it was a long drive just for 3 oz. of ice cream and got korean bbq too.
- i have a secret that i'm dying to tell the world but i've been sworn to secrecy until a later date. it's like when you first find out you're pregnant, but you don't want to tell people until after the first trimester. (no, i'm not pregnant. oh dear, that would be crazy.)
- gwen got her first bump today (and rolled off the couch last week, which was her first owie/accident). i was at a friend's house in TVA and in my lack of coordination somehow the screen door bumped gwenner's noggen. i was sad. she was sadder.
- we're selling the element and getting a minivan ... yep, for real. and we're getting an older, used minivan (not way old, just not new). i'm hoping for a VW van - you know da kine. but most don't have a/c, and i guess we could install a/c. i guess we'll see. it's kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity because this will be our last car before we get the "family car", the one i'll drive until the kids are grown and gone. so i say we should totally go the VW route ... penny for your thoughts.
- my hair looks like a helmet, seriously. i don't mind it much other than the heat trap it is. i think i could safely stow a spare pair of glasses, the car keys, and a tube of sunblock in there if needs be. maybe even a couple diapers and wipes. nah, that's an exaggeration - scratch out the diapers and wipes.
- i'm finally starting on gwen's song. a while back (i guess it would be about 2 years ... ha) i decided i wanted to write a song for each of our children while they're still an infant. i've had the gist of gwen's song's lyrics bouncing about my brain for a bit now, but hadn't found a suitable melody or chord progression or even song style for them. but a couple nights ago as i nursed her to sleep a little ditty popped in my mind, and i think i might fly with this one. wish me luck.

well i feel like i could just respond to every point that was made and then i feel like i need bullet points or something for my comment... so let me start by:
YOURE KILLING ME WITH THAT WHOLE SURPRISE THING! and yes, i will admit that when you first said it i was like, NO! she's PREGNANT!?! so thanks for clearing that up. but WHEN??? can you tell us because i really want to know for some reason. are you buying a house? did you get a record deal? do tell. :)
and i hope i can hear both addi and gwens songs someday, maybe you can have a concert.
what else, oh, so long element- aka- the car i coveted so very much. best color ever.
and i dont think you have helmet hair, but i too know what that feels like. i had a helmet cut (see christmas card 2004 for proof) when thomas and i were first married and i felt the same.
i guess that's it for now. :)
I wanna know the secret too! I found your post very exciting to read- never mind the lack of pictures. Yay for Addi, poor Gwen, and I can't wait to hear the song! Not sure about a VW van- are they safe? That woul be pretty cool though....
Back to the secret- WHAT IS IT?!
Sounds like life is still pretty busy!! I just remembered in Elementary school how me and a bunch of others would always say "I have a secret na-na na-na na-na, but I can't tell you." hehe Can't wait to hear!
cant believe addi's off the bottle!! yay addi!
vw vans' are cool-suped up ones are expensive-o and they're old so get a good one so the fam is safe (my two cents).
you should start a me and my guitar page too! that's be fun to see.
secret?
I wanna hear!!!
VW VW VW VW VW VW (I'm chanting it).
Now I am a bit skeptical about the whole a/c thing and worried a bit about repairs, but it would be AWESOME! Do it.
ok, a v-dub bus is my dream car. luke and saw 3 yesterday on the north shore and were saying how we are going to pick one up in california and ship it back here. it's the only mom car i have ever wanted my whole life.
what is this surprise stuff? i have to know.
it was fun playing with you kids at tva, call whenever your around, velzy loves addy and your fun to chum around with!
Okay, Stef, honestly, how do you always make your blogs so entertaining? I love and miss you every time I read your words. You are too much fun. I can't wait to hear what your surprise is.
ummm... that is strange.. I could have SWORN i left a comment on here WEEKS ago!!
-Well probably not weeks. that would be impossible.
I'm so happy to hear that the no-bottle is going well!!! I wonder if that goes hand in hand with the potty training?? She's a big girl now!! Watch out!! Soon she'll be obsessed with Bras and boys (Like Brylie and Kali... oi)
And Hooray for Celebrating with Angels!!! I try to look for any excuse to go out for shave ice or ice cream!
This secret is soo enticing. I Must know what it is!!! Did you find a house or a space for Casey's wood shop?? THAT Would be a good surprise!
A VW Would be an amazing family vehicle!!! IT will be sad to see the element go though. It is my Jorgie Landmark! "Look stefani and Casey are here!" *sigh*
My hair is in an awkward stage too! SERIOUSLY Awkward. I had a dream last night that my hair was Long and i was loving the messy buns and no-mirror needed ponies. But then i woke up to my sad awkward hair. :(
I'm excited to hear that the creative juices are flowing for gwens song! That is such a great idea writing songs for your girls. I always thought to write songs for my kids. But i could just never do it. I have written a few lullabies. but I don't even remember them now...
So good for you!
