this and that

i want to post, and i actually have much to post about, in the "posting for my own personal records" sense, though it may not be a page turner to you; however, i have no pics, which seems to make the posts postless ... unpostable ??? you know what i mean.

so in a nutshell:
  • addi's potty training for real. today she only had one accident (which really was my fault) and she pooed in the toilet. yay! so in celebration we went to angels where she downed a chocolate ice cream cone with my help, then walked around laie for hours on end. well, we played at tva, the walking wasn't really that long. anyways, yay for poopies!
  • the no-bottle is going well. she puts up a fight at nap and night time, but never asks for it any other time.
  • addi and gwen are sick-o. just colds, but it's gwen's first, and addi's is accompanied by a wicked cough, and let's emphasize that they're both sick at the same time, so it seems like more than it is.
  • last night we went to kaneohe to get free coldstone, then decided that it was a long drive just for 3 oz. of ice cream and got korean bbq too.
  • i have a secret that i'm dying to tell the world but i've been sworn to secrecy until a later date. it's like when you first find out you're pregnant, but you don't want to tell people until after the first trimester. (no, i'm not pregnant. oh dear, that would be crazy.)
  • gwen got her first bump today (and rolled off the couch last week, which was her first owie/accident). i was at a friend's house in TVA and in my lack of coordination somehow the screen door bumped gwenner's noggen. i was sad. she was sadder.
  • we're selling the element and getting a minivan ... yep, for real. and we're getting an older, used minivan (not way old, just not new). i'm hoping for a VW van - you know da kine. but most don't have a/c, and i guess we could install a/c. i guess we'll see. it's kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity because this will be our last car before we get the "family car", the one i'll drive until the kids are grown and gone. so i say we should totally go the VW route ... penny for your thoughts.
  • my hair looks like a helmet, seriously. i don't mind it much other than the heat trap it is. i think i could safely stow a spare pair of glasses, the car keys, and a tube of sunblock in there if needs be. maybe even a couple diapers and wipes. nah, that's an exaggeration - scratch out the diapers and wipes.
  • i'm finally starting on gwen's song. a while back (i guess it would be about 2 years ... ha) i decided i wanted to write a song for each of our children while they're still an infant. i've had the gist of gwen's song's lyrics bouncing about my brain for a bit now, but hadn't found a suitable melody or chord progression or even song style for them. but a couple nights ago as i nursed her to sleep a little ditty popped in my mind, and i think i might fly with this one. wish me luck.
i think that's it for now.

p.s.

i realize i've neglected to blog the personal goings-on of the jorgensen family lately, so here they are in a nutshell:
  • the element is back yeah! and fully repaired (last wednesday)
  • case is sick. the doc says it's either salmonella or gastroenteritis. lots o' puking, high fever, the shakes, fatigue, dizziness ... you get the pic (off-and-on the past two weeks)
  • we got a Mac and i {heart} it. photo editing, music recording, and the ability to change fonts on blog posts (not available on PC) ... pure bliss. (two days ago)
  • addi is crazy, seriously. 'terrible twos' is the biggest downplay in the english language. absolutely torrential, tyrading tot would be more fitting. and of course those of you who have been around her might be thinking, 'oh, she's a complete angel. what in the world is stefani thinking? she really should be a better mother.'  i promise, and every other mother can vouch for me, they're better for you than they are for us. (past several months)
  • the Mac came with a free iPod touch (as well as a free HP printer/copier/scanner/photo printer + a student discount ... sweet deals). we never would have purchased an iPod touch on our own, but i will have you know, it's phenomenal. mobile, hand-held web, videos, etc. (yes, i realize these things have been around for a while, but it's our first time venturing into this avenue of technology).
  • we thought we might be pregnant, but we're not *phew*. (last week)
i'm sure there's more, but that's what i can think of for now.
