broccoli, and carrots, and corn ... OH MY!

the whole of it, from the end nearest the house:

the little watermelon that could ...
banana pepper? or is it bell? i'd have to check the planting plan.
but a pepper, no doubt.
our lovely, leafy lettuce.
give you a hint: they're red and grow on a vine.
16 karats.
and saving the best for last, casey's favorite, the bodacious broccoli!!
we've been nibbling the peas for a few months, and they're done. they never made it to the kitchen. we'd grab a handful on the way out for a walk, or on the way to town, and just nibble away. YUMMY!

and the corn. well, the corn ... died ...

because WE ATE IT!!

last tuesday night (hmm, actually i think it might have been wednesday) we boiled those little beauties up and gobbled them kernel by kernel.

fresh from the harvest
awe, shucks ...
getting ready for the bath.
viola! magnifique!
(case LOVES his homegrown corn ... it's like his 3rd child.)

so far this gardening thing is pretty sweet!

oh man, i'm so jealous right now. only my tomatoes are producing, and the plant itself looks sad. you plants look like they are thriving. and how does corn work? does it only produce one ear? yummy bounty.

Looks awesome, I can't wait to have a garden! I am the biggest fan of garden veggies there is no comparison to that store crap that has no nutrients yet they still make you pay a bundle. I tried so hard to grow tomatoes in our apt, didn't work. So can't wait I am totally making a spot at our new house for a garden.

I was just chatting with the sister missionaries tonight about a garden. Our bishop gave a talk a few weeks back about getting a garden in place this year so everyone in the ward is all gung ho for gardening. I need to get with the program but it's a little daunting. YOUR garden looks FAAAAANTASTIC and I am SO jealous! I hope mine can turn out as good! Your corn looks so fresh and delish!
