that was fun! and since then my sewing machine died (it was manslaughter) and i got a new one. the same one... well, as close to the same as i could find. this one, the new one, does monogramming too. how COOL is that!!
well, so, you see, my mom gave me all sorts of random fabrics, so i figured i'd try my hand again. only this time i wanted to make clothes. not just an apron or bag or something. so i picked a dress of addi's that i like and traced the basic outline of it on a piece of fabric. then i added some stylistic touches... accent drop-waist. bold collar. contrasting cap-sleeve.
then.i.cut.
cutting is scary, eh!
and this is out all laid out.
INTRODUCING: sewing attempt #5.
(yes, this is indeed the 5th thing i've sewed. sewn? whatever. 2 bags, 2 aprons, and now a dress. YAY!!)

overall i'm tickled pink about the whole thing. i just had a little idea, drew a little design, cut here, sew there, voila a new dress!! that ROCKS!! the sleeves aren't what i was imagining, but no big deal. and the buttons were an afterthought when i made the head hole to small (hahaaahaHA!!). addi likes it. i like it. in fact, she'll be rockin this look at stake conference this weekend.
